Naomi DuCharme

Naomi is a workforce wellbeing consultant, speaker, facilitator, and leadership recovery coach helping employers build practical systems for workplace mental health, substance-use prevention, recovery-supportive workplaces, leadership development, occupational safety and health, and culture change.

With more than 20 years of management and leadership experience from frontline operations to executive-level strategy, and more than a decade dedicated to occupational safety and health in construction, Naomi brings a rare blend of field credibility, executive insight, systems thinking, and lived experience. As a Construction Health and Safety Technician, Certified Professional Coach, and Total Worker Health® Facilitator, she understands both the technical and human sides of workforce health.

Her experience spans construction field safety, workforce development, executive leadership, training, facilitation, coaching, and organizational strategy. She has worked in the field and understands what actually happens on the ground, and in leadership to understand how policies, culture, communication, and work design shape retention, safety, engagement, and performance.

This work became deeply personal after Naomi experienced workplace suicide and overdose in her leadership and safety career while also confronting the impact of 15 years of unhealthy stress management in her own life. Her sobriety became a turning point. She began studying Total Worker Health® and digging into the data around workforce mental health, substance use, burnout, injury, illness, and retention. What she found confirmed what she had already seen firsthand: when workers are suffering, organizations suffer too.

Naomi helps employers recognize burnout, disengagement, absenteeism, presenteeism, substance misuse, turnover, injury and illness as signals instead of isolated problems. These signals often point to deeper opportunities in culture, leadership support, policies and procedures, work design, psychological & psychosocial safety, benefits, communication, and connection to care.

Known for quickly connecting the dots, Naomi helps organizations leverage existing systems, close the gaps that create risk, and integrate workforce wellbeing into the way work actually gets done. Her approach is not a cookie-cutter wellness program or a one-off initiative. It is a practical framework for engaging the workforce, assessing systems, identifying root causes, and co-creating solutions that support mental health, reduce substance-use risk, prevent burnout, improve retention, and strengthen performance.
